The Democrats and the Grinch
3 years agoI posted yesterday that I was shocked to suddenly find myself loving my country. It’s not that I didn’t like my country or didn’t think it was the best option out there—but it was an intellectual rather than an emotional relationship. (I both expect and encourage the Republicans out there to mock my sentimentalism—but it’s true, this is a weird new feeling.) And it turns out that this is not an uncommon reaction to this election.
I’m reminded of the moment the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes. It’s a strange feeling. And worrisome. Is this really a healthy cardiac development? I don’t care. It’s awesome.
